This puts it in front of Russia and China making up 12.8% of the worlds infected sites, that’s according to Sophos’ Security Threat Report of 2010. The United Kingdom came in at a comparatively low 1.6%. Sophos’ report covers sites that claim to have ’sensitive’ or ‘desirable’ content pulling the user into clicking on to their site. This is a well known technique that is implemented but more recently websites of legitimate business are having malware attached to their sites by hackers, downloading damaging software on to clients computers without their knowledge.

To eliminate this threat webmasters need to make sure that they keep their sites secure as possible from hackers through security coding and patches against attacks. Meanwhile general computer users need to safeguard their computers by investing in good anti-virus software that scans email, websites and hacks. There are so many anti-virus to choose from with one to suit everyone’s needs so finding one that suits your needs, only takes a few minutes.

You wouldn’t leave your home un-secure so treat your computer in the same way.
